- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Pat the beef ribs dry and remove the thin membrane from the back if present.
- Mix the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, then rub it all over the ribs.
- Wrap the ribs tightly in foil, place on a baking sheet, and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until fork-tender.
- Carefully open the foil, brush the ribs generously with barbecue sauce.
- Increase the heat to 425 degrees F and bake uncovered for 15 minutes until the sauce is caramelized. Rest 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Low and slow is the secret to tender ribs. Back ribs are leaner; short ribs are meatier and richer. Remove the membrane for the most tender result.
